Tuesday, Tuesday

I used to love Tuesday's.

On Tuesdays, I would eagerly check my email for my weekly fix. I subscribe to Harper's Weekly, The Onion, and the SF Gate's Morning Fix. I now also subscribe to the New York Times In addition, I get Dilbert, and The Boondocks delivered to my primary address and Get Fuzzy to my secondary pn a daily basis, but I'm usually to busy to check them daily, so, I'll go through a week or so at one sitting. About once a month, I'll check out the Sunday comics of Pearls Before Swine, and Pigborn.

The Morning Fix used to be delivered daily, then Mr. Morford got a little too unrestrained and had his chain yanked by management. He then did his column 3 times a week, with comments on the current events. Now he just editorializes. Another good columnist out of the SF Chronicle is Jon Carroll, but I'm a bit busy to read him regularly.

Harper's is the most cogent of them all. I've never read the magazine, but the editors who have put the weekly screed together have an acerbic wit, and truth be told, I trust their aggregate of the news more than just about anyone else's.

The Onion is hilarious, while being deadpan. I can only hope one day to write as well as these people.I was introduced to the Onion by way of reading a column by one of their regulars, a Mr.Herbert Kornfeld, who works in the Accounts Payable department of the Midsate Office Supply. I check my horoscope there as well, it's written by Lloyd Schummer Sr., a retired machinist and A.A.P.B. Certified Astologer.

In addition to these I have subscribed to various Yahoo groups, mostly covering various Western Martial Arts, my Burning Man camp and a few of my favorite artists. I get all of these as digests, mainly because there's nothing going on in any of them that demand my immediate attention. Sometimes, I'll go to Slate and check out what they're saying about the world, and read Doonesbury while I'm there. Uncle Duke rocks, and we all know why.

This is just the stuff I read for fun. You should see what I do when I do research on something.

No! It's because he is the only one with a realistic and non altruistic grip on reality and society.
